5 Sheet Paper Truss Bridge Monomoy Regional School

Students at Monomoy Regional School recently completed a challenging engineering project to construct a 5 sheet paper truss bridge. This project was part of their STEM curriculum, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The goal of the project was for students to apply their knowledge of structural engineering principles to design and build a bridge that could support a specified weight.

The students worked in teams to brainstorm design ideas, create blueprints, and construct their bridges using only 5 sheets of paper. They applied concepts such as load distribution, tension and compression forces, and geometry to ensure that their bridges were structurally sound. After completing the construction phase, the students tested their bridges to see how much weight they could hold before collapsing.
